Woodcock-Johnson III (NU)
Tests of Achievement
NEW! Online testing using the Woodcock-Johnson
III (NU) Tests of Achievement (2005 norms)
Due to the current academic situation
and the stay-at-home policies of many, our in-person testing
with the Woodcock-Johnson Tests of Achievement is being discontinued
for the present.
However, the good
news is that the publisher, Riverside Insights, has given
us permission to administer the tests using a web-video-assessment
format.
According to their
guidelines, we are required to do the following:
1. Acknowledge and document that
this "non-standard
administration" of the test is temporarily being used
because of the current situation in the United States.
2. Comply with all applicable Federal and State laws regarding achievement
testing.
3. Focus on the best interest of the students in our processes and procedures.
4. Comply with the legal and ethical standards as set forth by the National
Association of School Psychologists.
5. Preserve the security and integrity of the test materials at all times.
6. Exercise wisdom when interpreting scores from this non-standard testing
procedure, especially when it comes to using the scores for grade placement.
Our service to you:
Our standard, 45-60 min. per student,
Woodcock-Johnson achievement testing service will be conducted
by video conferencing through Zoom.us web-meeting host. This
will make testing available to you and your student(s) in the
comfort and safety of your own home.
As per the guidelines on page 16 of the Woodcock-Johnson Technical
Manual, we are focusing our online testing on the subjects
of English Grammar, Reading, Spelling, and Math, and will be
administering the following subtests: Letter Word Identification,
Passage Comprehension, Math Calculation, Math Applied Problems,
Spelling Dictation, and Punctuation/Capitalization.
After the test is completed, you will receive a personal consultation
about your student's performance on the test, and the 1-page
student report plus an explanation page in pdf documents will
be sent to your email. Payment is requested at the end of the
testing session.
Here is how it will
work:
1. Administration of the Woodcock-Johnson Tests of Achievement
to your student(s) in this web-video format is by appointment.
So please call or email me if you have not already scheduled
a day and time for your student(s).
2. On the day of the test, you will need a computer, ipad, or smart phone with
a camera and microphone, plus scratch paper and pencil with eraser. Your student
should have a secure and quiet area in which to complete the test questions
as he/she looks at the screen and hears my voice.
3. I will send you an invitation from my personal secure email with the link
to access the Zoom.us website and the one-on-one private video meeting. Getting
set up for the test is fairly simple, but if you are not familiar with using
Zoom, you may want to visit that website for more details.
4. After the test is completed, I will explain your student's scores and send
the report(s) to your email.
5. The cost is $60 per student, payable by credit card at the end of the testing
session. Or you may mail us a check or money order if you prefer.
By utilizing our
testing service using this web-video format of the Woodcock-Johnson
Tests of Achievement, you hereby agree to do the following:
1. Maintain the security of testing materials before and after the testing,
not sharing them with other students or families who may be testing in the
future.
2. Adhere strictly to all copyright laws, and under no circumstances record
the test session, photocopy or otherwise reproduce the testing materials shown
on your computer screen.
3. Avoid labeling students based on a single test score.
4. Comply fully with all applicable laws in your state regarding achievement
testing.
5. Not use this test and/or report as a practice for the same or any other
nationally standardized achievement test.
Thank you again for reading this information and using our
online testing service. We look forward to serving you in this
way during these unusual times.
